The Why Don't We Society
Since June 2020, I have been hosting online concert events I call Why Don't We Zoom Concerts. These events involve fans of the boyband Why Don't We getting on a Zoom call together and listening to the band's music. This may sound simple; however, it is very time-consuming. Each week I have to create the tickets for the event, the music playlist, and any graphics I need to share information about the event. On top of that, I have kept the Why Don't Zoom Concert Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok accounts updated. After doing all of those things, I also host the event. Up to this point, I have recruited two fans to be on my PR team and another fan to be my co-host. This event is proving to be a great learning experience for me, and I'm starting to apply some of the PR methods I have learned in class. I built this concert from the ground up, and I continue to keep it running smoothly.
Victoria Secret PINK Campus Team
I was a part of the Victoria Secret PINK Iowa State Campus Team as the Social Guru from September 2020 - May 2021. The goal of my job was to help promote PINK products on campus through social media. This position allowed me to help curate social media posts, collaborate with the team photographer/videographer, and help create PINK giveaway contests. I also documented in-person events when we had them.
The Black Sheep Online
I worked for The Black Sheep Online as a micro-influencer from October 2020 - June 2021. Specifically, I worked with goPuff, a snack delivery app. My job was to curate two Instagram posts and one Instagram story per campaign that featured products available for purchase through their app.
Student Union Board
I participated in Student Union Board as a general member from January 2020 - September 2021. Volunteered at concerts where I scanned tickets, worked security, and helped the bands with load-in and load-out equipment. I was also a member of the Student Union Board marketing committee from February 2020 - December 2021. I took pictures at events for social media, helped advertise around campus, and implemented new marketing tactics.
